Super 8 Hotel Rebrand

PERSONAL PROJECT

Established in 1974, Super 8 is an American hotel brand. Formerly known as Super 8 Motel for their convenient price of $8.88 per night. This hotels has become a national roadside lodging chain that provides convenient locations, clean rooms and friendly service at a reasonable price. You can always find a Super 8 near a restaurants or two and a highway interchange be nearby.

The hotel chain brand has become archaic and there was an opportunity to create a new brand identity system. The new system goal is to match their target audience of millennials by modifying the old with a modern twist to gain more sales.

LOGO CONCEPT

The Logo was created from the idea of the hotel being a pit-stop. The star represents the connection between highways in which a Super 8 would be located near. The combination of intersecting S & 8 pays homage to the nostalgic quote of the hotel, “A Road Trip Original”.
